This Weekend I have had the pleasure of being involved with the 'Burland Hall Big Weekend' a fantastic weekend event raising lots of money for St Luke's Hospice.
Burland Hall is a beautiful country house set in the little villiage of Burland, with breath taking gardens and views, the charity event has been held at this venue for quite a few years and was a perfect backdrop.
I was approached earlier this year and was asked if I would like to make and design the table arrangements for the charity pick-nick ball along with Betty Bulkeley, we were very happy to accept and we had a great time perfecting our designs.
Due to being in the heart of the Cheshire countryside we really wanted to go for country, rustic look for this event, we can safely say that was achieved. The flowers we decided on were Sunflowers, Delphinium, Berries, Daisy, Green Bell, Thistle, Eucalyptus. Betty has the most beautiful garden filled full of interesting foliage's so of course we picked as much as possible to go in our designs.
The designs were made in little wooden trugs, lightly painted in cream colour for a shabby chic look. The flowers really stood out against the base, and they were exactly how we had imagined they would be. Bright and Beautiful.
We wanted to create a statement for the marquee, something to go in the entrance area so guests would see our designs straight away and could really appreciate them. We decided to make two floral trees, made entirely out of flowers and foliage's, we were very happy with the final result, have a look at some of the pictures.
Both me and Betty attended the Pick-nick ball we had a great time, and were happy to see how much money had been made for this amazing charity.
